Later, during early pre-menopause, when my hair began shedding and thinning, I started searching for something gentler and more reliable.
That’s when I moved on to the turban-twist towels. I tried them many times, wondering if I was doing something wrong. They were too short, too narrow, and difficult to wrap. They slid from side to side. My hair hung out instead of staying secure. Nothing ever fit snugly around my head, and I couldn’t rely on it while bending, showering, doing chores, or shaving my legs.
The more I searched online, the more I discovered I wasn’t alone. Women everywhere were saying the same things:
• “It’s too short for long hair.” • “It won’t stay on.” • “The material is cheap.” • “It’s loose and unstable.” • “It doesn’t hold the hair inside.”
That’s when I realized the truth: these towels weren’t designed for how women actually use them.
The Moment Everything Changed
One day, while pulling a T-shirt over my head, I noticed how the neck opening gripped my head in a comfortable, secure way. That moment sparked something. I bent over and wrapped my hair using the T-shirt — and for the first time ever, I could move freely without anything slipping or falling apart.
That simple moment became the inspiration behind everything that followed.
Seven Years of Trial, Error, and Determination
I began experimenting — different shapes, fabrics, patterns, and prototypes. I learned that the secret was an elastic band engineered to match the natural width of the human neck. Finding the right tension and contraction took years. Many prototypes failed, but giving up was never an option. I knew women deserved something better.
After seven years of development — and with support from a pro-bono patent program — my invention became officially patented:
U.S. Patent No. 12,383,039 — Elastic Slim Hair Towel Wrap
And that is when the Smart Hair Towel™ was born.

My mission has always been bigger than creating a better hair towel. One of my deepest callings is to help animals around the world — especially dogs and cats who are stray, homeless, or unwanted.
In my own neighborhood, I care for several stray cats who live around my old home. I wake up at 5:00 AM to trap them safely, take them in to get spayed or neutered, and make sure they’re cared for. I’ve bought insulated outdoor shelters for them during the winter, and I feed them every single day. I call them God’s gifts — because that’s truly what they are to me.
Inside my home, I live with three rescued cats and one tiny dog named Meggie. Meggie recently went blind after turning 13 years old. The cost of removing cataracts from both eyes is over $10,000 — far more than I can afford, and heartbreakingly, even more expensive than cataract surgery for humans.
Every day, I look into her little face and wish I could give her the world. And I know so many pet owners feel the same pain.
That’s why I want to do something about this — something bigger than myself.
